Apologizing for the Accident or Admitting Blame
Being “at fault” for an accident has a specific legal meaning and is determined by looking at the circumstances leading up to the collision. You should not accept blame for an accident, apologize or give any indication that the crash was your fault. It is best to keep quiet and share as little information as possible with the other drivers and their insurance companies until you speak to an attorney. Answer all of the questions asked by police truthfully, but do not volunteer more information than what you are asked.
